Hungarian American Cultural Association
Thank you for supporting the Hungarian Exhibition at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in 2013!
Hungary was the featured country at the 2013 Smithsonian Folklife Festival on 26-30 June
and 3-7 July, 2013 at the National Mall in Washington, DC. This was a unique chance to showcase
Hungary’s cultural heritage. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity for the American public in
general, and Hungarian-Americans in particular, to connect with Hungary.
HACA has been working with the Hungarian American community to raise the funds needed to make
this exhibit an outstanding success. We thank you for your financial support which created a truly memorable
and lasting experience for the millions of visitors at the National Mall. It cost $1
million to plan and implement this exhibit. Over 100 performers and craftsmen have exhibited
Hungarian folk culture, heritage, and identity. Dozens of programs were presented every day.
Concerts and dances were performed in the evenings. With your financial support, we have been
able to broaden the programs even further.
